Project in Japan

Suerteksa had a short-term project on Aida cruise ship which is being built at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries shipyard (herinafter MHI) in Nagasaki, Japan. Contract was made between Suerteksa UAB and a German company specialized in outfitting of vessels. Suerteksa subcontracted a team of carpenters from SOTI Union UAB (partner company for Suerteksa UAB) to make installation of wall and ceiling panels, mounting of carpets and other interior works including furniture assembling.

Some basic facts about the newbuilding:
AIDAprima is 300 m length and 37.6 m beam. 124500 GT.
The new cruise ship will accommodate up to 3300 passengers.
AIDAprima will be equipped with MHI “know-how” MALS – Mitshubishi air lubrication system. This system creates small bubbles which cover bottom of the vessel like “air carpet”, which reduced friction between hull and seawater and as a consequence will save fuel by 7% and corresponding lower emissions.
